Digital Craft Artist & Educator
Hello, my name is Sungyoon Kim and I’m a digital craft artist and an educator based in Seoul, South Korea. Recently I moved to Busan.
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in ceramic art at Ewha Womans University, I began to interested in 3D printer which would be helpful to make a plaster mold for slip casting. I mastered a 3D modeling skill and some slicing programs in order to operate this machine.
I went to graduate school to study the interactions between ceramics and 3D printers in 2017. Now I’m a phD student at Ewha Womans University and a teacher at Ewha Womans University and Kongju University.
I created this website for using ‘A Research Materials Notebook’. The screen name is ‘Yoonie’.
Focused in two function of 3D Printer. One is an effective method for work flow such as slip casting. The other is that the results form 3D printer are also art work by itself.
